Welcome to Hull’s oldest dwelling. A traditional ‘No-Nonsense’ Yorkshire welcome awaits you at Ye Olde House, café-bar. This might include the odd sarcasm or witness the sibling owners exchanging sibling pleasantries. The rest of the staff are lovely and combined with the building, you’ll find a truly unique ambience.

Open seven days a week providing refreshments, and a light menu of fresh food offerings right through until 9pm in the evening. Take-away or sit in; tea, coffee, breakfast and lunch menu are on offer during the week from 08.30am. The fully licensed bar begins at 12 Noon. Don’t ask for alcohol before then or you’ll get a traditional Yorkshire sarcastic reply.

Ye Olde House

Upon entering Ye Olde House which originates from circa 1450, you’ll find yourself in a cosy yet surprisingly bright café-bar with comfortable seating. Surrounded by features, photography and historical facts of the building and surrounding area, you’ll enjoy a feeling of real character. You might learn a bit of local history too.

To ensure you enjoy your visit, you’ll be offered a choice of tasty temptations to eat and an array of drinks ranging from hot beverages and soft drinks through to an extensive wine list with something to suit everyone’s taste.

Additional Seating

Go upstairs and apart from noticing many original building features that are over five hundred years old, you’ll discover an additional seating area. And if you have any friends, there’s a choice of traditional games available for customer use. From Chess to Connect 4, Dominoes to Draughts, Cluedo to Scrabble. Monopoly is also available but do note that tantrums are not allowed and we do have a closing time by which you’re expected to put it back as you found it.
